We saved the best for last! Erin and myself are both pirates (aarrrgh!) so of course TY has amazing purple and gold finds. I can't believe it's already August and school starts in just a few weeks. But with the stress of new homework assignments and projects comes one of our faves, football season! Dressing for a collegiate sporting event, especially one that's outdoors and starts in August in the blistering heat, can be a challenge. And then let's not even talk about football games in the winter. It's even harder dressing for cold weather but Truly Yours is on top of it, so stay tuned for those posts in a couple months. OK, so back to the heat. Ugh. Your clothing choices have to be practical yet school-spirited and on trend. With so many t-shirts bearing your school logo, it's hard to pass them up! Enter our new series about what fashionable college ladies can wear to their school's games featuring fun and flirty Truly Yours pieces. First up, UNC Chapel Hill. (Other schools to follow: NC State, ECU and App State. We've got you covered, too.) Lookbook love #5

Out with the old and in with the new! Perfect timing for our summer lookbook series to be over because our new mini lookbook is out and ready for you to lust over. But that doesn't mean these looks are old by any means. Just because the 4th of July is over doesn't mean you can't still wear red, white and blue! Nix the stars and class it up a little bit with our Fireworks Finale Tank Top and Tractr Jeans in White on the left. Add blue accessories like classic blue heels and a statement necklace. Hair can be an accessory, too! The "top-knot", more commonly known as the bun, is super trendy right now and looks perfect with this outfit, as seen on our model. On the right is more of a rustic look with ankle boots and skinny jeans matching our Sparkler Top, one of my favorite pieces from Truly Yours. Sleeveless collared shirts are everywhere and the stripes and tie at the waist stand out and add extra flair. We paired it with our Bohemian Rhapsody Necklace and a red lip, which looks great on everybody!

Around the "blogisphere" loads of girls want to know how to style the colored denim trend. Good news, it's not hard. You don't have to wear them with a plain white shirt. The new mix n' match trend allows us to wear different colors, patterns, fabrics, etc all in one outfit!. So I put together a set from the Truly Yours summer lookbook that incorporates all of these things. First things first: what to pair with our Tractr Jeans in Tropical Punch? Our green and striped Beach Club Tank Top looks great without clashing. You can also get away with a lightweight scarf in place of a necklace, even in the summertime. I chose a pretty floral print. Hint: when mixing patterns (like stripes and florals) make sure they are a similar color palette. This crochet shoulder hobo bag is also a huge trend. Basically you can get away with anything crochet these days: dresses, bags, shorts, tops, anything! Just make sure, if you are choosing to wear it as a dress or top, to stay covered with something like a cute bandeau. Our Starship Earrings match perfectly with the jeans (so the outfit doesn't turn into a mess!) And then a neutral flat in a sophisticated suede fabric completes the look.

It seems as if these bright coral colors are taking over this summer! And you know we stock up on whatever's trending right here at Truly Yours. This ensemble matches great with our Don't Get it Twisted Belt  (also available in pink) and gives it more life compared to a boring brown belt. Add some gold accessories like our new matching set of Walk Like an Egyptian Necklace and Walk Like an Egyptian Earrings. Wearing a watch with every outfit isn't just practical anymore, it's a must for every fashionista. Try a new take on it with a watch that doubles as a bracelet. Also a super huge trend (and something I will be posting about soon!) is anything and everything animal print. Zebra, giraffe, leopard, and cheetah prints are the new neutrals, which makes them so enticing. They go with everything! So add an edgy zebra print flat and maybe a nautical tote if you're on the beach, like our model in the summer lookbook photo.

It's the second day of our Lookbook Love series and we're giving you two looks to covet. The first in the top lefthand corner is a fun and girly alternative to a dress. Rompers are a big trend this summer and the Take the Cake Romper is no exception. When the whole shirt and a top thing gets boring, this is your go-to. Pair it with our flashy Hollywood Sign Earrings and a colorblock shoe. Or go barefoot on the beach like our models! The second look is worn by Truly Yours founder, Erin. The Tractr Jeans are one of her favorite items because they go with everything. She's also wearing our Walking on Sunshine Top with the hot pink Braidy Bunch Necklace. Your shoes and other accessories should be kept simple to let the necklace speak for itself.

Summer Lovin' is our new series that will be taking place over the next week where we will be featuring outfits from our summer lookbook. We're taking the lookbook and making it a reality for you Truly Yours shoppers by breaking the looks down and giving you links for each piece so you can look just as great as our models!  Our model looks absolutely beautiful in this outfit and we want you to look just as good! So start with our updated version of a feminine white top, the First Kiss Top, which is so good for accentuating the tiniest part of your waist with it's attached belt. Oh So Chic Photography

If you haven't already been to our Lookbook page, it's another great tool to see how we at Truly Yours would style the clothes. Inspiration is key in styling. Just like artists find inspiration for paintings, you should go out there and find inspiration for the perfect oufit. Our new summer lookbook is up and there are so many cute options! We will be doing a series of posts about the lookbook and and how to put together each look in the near future, so stay tuned!

Tell us a little about yourself.

I'm 22 years old from Richmond, Virginia and I recently graduated from ECU with a B.A. in photography.

Why did you choose photography?

I fell in love with photography in high school when I took my first class where we had to develop our own film. I especially love fashion photography. I love clothes and shopping.

How is it shooting for Truly Yours?

I have so much fun doing the lookbooks for Truly Yours. The clothes are so cute!

Yay, we love having you! What exactly does Oh So Chic offer?

As of now I do pretty much any type of photography-fashion, commercial, senior portraits, family, children, etc. But fashion is what I'm most passionate about.

What do you see for yourself in the future?

I hope to one day work for a fashion magazine or company and live in Charleston, SC.

The all white outfit trend started in spring of last year. Now the glorious warm weather is bringing it back from hiding. White is best to be worn during the evening. Tons of celebrities wear it on the red carpet all the time and look fabulous. But that doesn't mean it's hands-off if you're not afraid to take risks with your style and have all eyes on you! Lucky for you, Truly Yours has white options to keep you on trend.

 The first look is for evening and has a lot of jewelry options to make it flashy enough for night. We just got the Hollywood Sign necklace and its a majorly popular item! I love the Over the Taupe shorts from Truly Yours (on sale for $12, such a steal) paired with a tucked in camisole and a white blazer to add structure. I would usually advise against a white shoe, but they're also on trend this season.

The day look would be cute for a shopping trip with the girls. The base of the outfit is pure Truly Yours, the Whisper Sweet Nothings tank top with the Tractr Jeans  in white. You could substitue the tank top with the First Kiss top, also from Truly Yours. Again, with all white you want to add an element that makes it pop so I gave it a sparkly clutch. But you don't want too much going on so stick with neutral accessories to accompany it like nude flats and these Take Flight earrings and NEW Moon Rock ring which also comes in mint.

Green With Envy Clutch

Cosmo has good taste! Their MMS bag from the Eye-Candy Clutches story in the new July 2012 issue is nearly identical to our Green With Envy clutch, which is a new arrival you can buy here. Plus, our bag is only $32, a whole $18 less than their version.

Here's one way you could style the clutch, but there are millions. Pair the clutch with a crsip white button-down and jean shorts. Then add some Grecian style sandals, a fedora, and matchy jewelry with a pop of color for a casual cool look. This outfit also includes the Charlie Brown earrings from Truly Yours.
